Newton Collins Community Garden

  • The mission of the garden is to cultivate joyful connections with the natural world through outdoor learning and edible education. Next school year, first through third grade students will receive standards focused lessons through PEAS nonprofit.  
  • For anyone looking to be hands-on with the garden, we need volunteers! We have a sign-up sheet for volunteers to help fill the garden beds with soil. Please feel free to sign up for any slot available (times are set based on school requirements). If we get all the soil moved ahead of time, we will let everyone know.
  • If you have community garden/garden design experience, we’d love to hear from you! Please email Ashley Saylor.

save the Date: Saturday, April 27th, Community and Educational Garden Dedication at 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

  • Join us for a day of fun with food trucks, bounce houses, music, and more to celebrate the grand opening of Newton Collins' first-ever community garden! Community members and families are all welcome. 

2024-2025 School Supply Sales - Now Available! 

Great News! The PTA will be offering the SchoolKidz supply kit program which offers custom school supply boxes filled with the exact items requested by your child’s teacher. So, skip the lines this summer and knock out some of your back-to-school supply shopping now.  School Supply Boxes will be delivered to Newton Collins in time for Meet-the-Teacher.

Hallway Heroes - Sign up to volunteer! 

  • Hallway Heroes is a new program at Newton Collins that encourages parents, relatives, and community members to serve as positive role models on campus, while also being an extra set of eyes and ears to enhance school safety. You must be an approved DVISD volunteer to sign up! If you’ve been approved, great. You can contact Dan at terp2124@gmail.com to sign up for November.

Special Events from Spring, 2023

We hosted a parent social for Newton Collins parents at Cenizo Coffee, which is just a few steps from Newton Collins. DVISD Superintendent, Annette Tielle, and Board of Trustee, Shaira Ramzanali, both made special appearances to talk with parents. Cenizo also donated proceeds from their grand opening to the PTA! THANK YOU Cenizo! 

We had a SUN-sational line-up of activities for our wonderful teachers at Newton Collins! 

Monday: Cenizo Coffee pop-up sponsored by RBFCU 

Tuesday: Breakfast from Lonestar Kolaches sponsored by our generous Easton Park neighbors with donations from Red Bull 

Wednesday: Taco Cabana lunch sponsored by Easton Park HOA 

Thursday: Photo Booth donated by Kona Event ATX and a dessert social with donations from Crumbl Cookies Southpark Meadows and Lick Honest Ice Creams

Friday: Lunch from Chisholm Trail BBQ sponsored by Pacesetter Homes 

Over 20 raffle prizes were donated by Amy’s Ice Cream, BookPeople, Jason’s Deli, Kendra Scott, Meanwhile Brewery, Painting with a Twist Southpark Meadows, Peoples RX, and Zen Blend.
